The publication of a peer-reviewed article in Histogram: Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika is an essential building block in developing a coherent and respected knowledge network. It directly reflects the quality of the authors' work and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles support and embody the scientific method.
Therefore, it is essential to agree upon standards of expected ethical behaviour for all parties involved in the act of publishing: the author, the journal editor, the peer reviewer, the publisher, and the society.
The Study Program of Mathematics Education, STKIP Andi Matappa as the publisher of Histogram: Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika takes its duties of guardianship over all stages of publishing extremely seriously. We recognize our ethical and other responsibilities. We are committed to ensuring that advertising, reprint, or other commercial revenue has no impact or influence on editorial decisions. In addition, the publisher and editorial board will assist in communicating with other journals and/or publishers where this is useful and necessary.
The editor of Histogram: Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika is responsible for deciding which articles submitted to the journal should be published. The validation of the work and its importance to researchers and readers must always guide such decisions. The editor may be guided by the editorial board’s policies and legal requirements regarding libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. Editors may also confer with other editors or reviewers in making this decision.
Editors evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content regardless of the author's race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.
The editor and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.
Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor's research without the author's express written consent.
Peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and, through editorial communication, may also help the author improve the paper.
Any reviewer who feels unqualified to review the manuscript or knows that timely review is not possible should notify the editor and withdraw from the review process.
Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents and must not be shared or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.
Reviews should be conducted objectively, without personal criticism of the author. Referees should express their views clearly and support their arguments.
Reviewers should identify relevant published works not cited by the authors. Any similarity or overlap between the manuscript under review and other published works should be reported to the editor.
Information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage. Reviewers should not review manuscripts where they have conflicts of interest with any of the authors or institutions involved.
Authors of original research must present an accurate account of the work performed, along with an objective discussion of its significance. The manuscript should contain sufficient detail and references to allow others to replicate the work. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements are unethical and unacceptable.
Authors may be asked to provide the raw data for editorial review and should be prepared to make such data publicly available if feasible. Authors must retain the data for a reasonable period after publication.
Authors must ensure that their work is original. If they have used the work or words of others, appropriate citation or quotation is required.
Authors should not publish the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals at the same time is unethical and unacceptable.
Proper acknowledgment of others' work must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have influenced their research.
Authorship should be limited to those who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. All significant contributors should be listed as co-authors. Others who have participated in certain substantive aspects should be acknowledged as contributors. The corresponding author must ensure all co-authors have seen and approved the final manuscript and have agreed to its submission.
If the research involves hazardous materials, procedures, or equipment, the author must clearly identify these risks in the manuscript.
All authors must disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that could influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support must be disclosed.
When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, they must promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate in retracting or correcting the paper.
