Abstract

The implementation of character education at the Elementary School (SD) level often faces challenges, where the integration of character values remains partial and separate from core subject content, consequently diminishing the effectiveness of holistic value internalization. This Community Service Program (Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat/PkM) aims to enhance the pedagogical competence of elementary school teachers in designing and implementing instruction that systematically integrates the five main character values (Religiosity, Nationalism, Self-Reliance, Mutual Cooperation, and Integrity) across all subjects. The PkM methodology employed an interactive workshop approach involving 30 elementary school teachers in the [Specify Location] region over three effective days. Data was collected through pre-test and post-test to measure the cognitive aspect, and analysis of the Lesson Plan (Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran/RPP) products to measure applied skills. The results of the Paired Sample T-Test analysis showed a highly significant increase in teacher understanding (Sig.=0.000) between pre-test and post-test scores. This finding is supported by an N-Gain Score of 0.608 (Medium category), proving the training's effectiveness. Practically, teachers successfully developed explicit integrated RPP models. This PkM successfully transformed the teachers' paradigm, equipping them with the technical ability to make character the soul of the entire learning process, thereby fostering strong character development sustainably in students.
