Penggunaan Metode Problem Solving dalam Meningkatkan Motivasi Belajar Peserta Didik Kelas V

Abstract

This study was driven by students' low learning motivation in mathematics, characterized by minimal participation, hesitation to ask questions, and reliance on teacher explanations. To address this, a problem-solving method was implemented. The study aimed to describe the implementation of this method and assess the improvement in students' learning motivation. Utilizing a qualitative descriptive approach, data was collected through observation, interaction, and recording involving the fifth-grade teacher, the principal, and fifth-grade students at MIS An Nashar Timor Timur Sudiang, Makassar City. Findings indicate that the problem solving method successfully increased student participation, making them more confident in asking questions, expressing opinions, and engaging in group discussions. Students' enthusiasm and problem solving abilities grew as they directly participated in finding solutions. Although some students still required additional guidance, overall, the problem solving approach effectively enhanced learning motivation.
