Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of animation media and improve students' critical thinking skills in science learning on food chain material in grade III of SDN 10 Limboto. This study uses the Classroom Action Research method which is carried out in two cycles. The subjects of this study were all 18 grade III students at SDN 10 Limboto and their homeroom teachers at SDN 10 Limboto. The object of this study is the Use of Animation Learning Media in Improving Students' Critical Thinking Skills in Grade III of SDN 10 Limboto. The data analysis techniques used in this study are analysis of test results and analysis of observation results. Based on the results of the study, researchers can conclude that science learning using animation media improves critical thinking skills of grade III students at SDN 10 Limboto. This study started from pre-cycle, cycle I and cycle II. Students' critical thinking skills before the application of audio-visual media had not reached the achievement criteria. What can be seen from the test is that the average value is 60.83 with a percentage of 38.8%, the cycle I test questions have an average value of 72.22 with a percentage of 55.5%, and the cycle II test questions have an average value of 78.00 with a percentage of 83.3%.
