Efektivitas Konseling Kelompok Menggunakan Teknik Behavior Contract Untuk Mengurangi Kecanduan Gadget Pada Siswa

Based on observations at MTs Darul Ulum Budi Agung Medan in the eighth grade Tahfidz class, students experience high gadget addiction, which affects their schoolwork, antisocial behavior, and lack of concentration in learning. This study aims to determine whether group counseling using the Behavior Contract technique is effective in reducing gadget addiction among students. This study employs a quantitative quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control design. The participants involved in this study consist of 12 students with high levels of gadget addiction. They were then divided into two groups: six experimental groups and six control groups, selected using purposive sampling. The research instrument used a questionnaire. The gadget addiction indicators according to Kwon consist of 30 valid items with a Cronbach Alpha of 0.864. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test and Mann-Whitney U Test. The results of the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test showed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest in the experimental group (Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) (0.028 < 0.05)). Meanwhile, in the control group, Asymp. Sig. 0.004 (< 0.05). It can be concluded that Behavior Contract group counseling is effective in reducing gadget addiction among students compared to the control group that did not receive treatment.
