Abstract

This study aims to improve the science and social studies (IPAS) learning outcomes of fourth-grade students through the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model at UPT SPF SD Inpres Bertingkat Bara-Baraya II. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of four core stages: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. A total of 24 fourth-grade students (comprising 11 males and 13 females) served as the research subjects. Data collection was carried out through observation techniques, learning evaluation tests, and documentation. The gathered data were subsequently analyzed by combining qualitative and quantitative methods. The findings confirmed a significant surge in student learning outcomes. The classical mastery learning rate rose drastically from 29.17% (7 passing students) in Cycle I to 87.5% (21 passing students) in Cycle II. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the application of the PBL model is effective in boosting the IPAS learning outcomes of fourth-grade students.
