PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN WORD SQUARE UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR IPS

This research examines the application of the Word Square learning model to improve Social Sciences (IPS) learning outcomes for class V students at Bulu-Bulu 37 State Elementary School, Pangkajene District, Pangkep Regency. The main problem raised is the low student learning outcomes in social studies subjects, so the aim of this research is to test whether using the Word Square model can improve student learning outcomes in social studies subjects. The method used is Classroom Action Research (PTK) with subjects of 20 students in the odd semester of the 2023/2024 academic year, carried out in two cycles, each consisting of two meetings. Data was collected through learning results tests and observation sheets, with descriptive analysis. The results show that the average learning outcome score increased from 68.5 in cycle I with 2 meetings and 80.25 in cycle II with 2 meetings, where all students completed it. The application of the Word Square model also increases student enthusiasm and enthusiasm, which has positive implications for active learning.
