Abstract

This study aims to determine the reading comprehension skills of fifth grade students of SD Negeri 15 Bonto-Bonto before and after the implementation of the KWL learning model, and whether there is an effect of the KWL learning model. This study uses a quantitative research approach with an experimental research type and a One Group Pretest Posttest Design research design. The population in this study were students of grades V A and V B of SD Negeri 15 Bonto-Bonto. The sampling technique used was the Random Sampling technique, namely students in grade V A of SD Negeri 15 Bonto-Bonto. Data collection techniques in this study were observation, tests, and questionnaires. Data analysis techniques used were descriptive and inferential statistical analysis consisting of normality tests, and hypothesis testing using paired sample T-test Pretest posttest. The results showed that there were differences in the average (mean) of students in the pretest-posttest. The conclusion of this study is that students' reading comprehension skills increased after being treated using the KWL Learning Model compared to before using the KWL Learning Model in the learning process. So it can be said that the use of the KWL Learning Model Based on Literacy Cloud has a significant influence on the reading comprehension skills of fifth grade students at Bonto-Bonto State Elementary School.
